Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Pro-Tuff Design Studio

Please note:  If you aren’t already logged in, the site may prompt you to login or register before continuing. Creating an account is free and lets you save or order your design.

1. Choose a Product to Customize

• Browse Pro-Tuff Decals products and click on the item you want (e.g., helmet decals, buckets, signs).
• On the product page, look for a button that says “Start Designing” — this launches the online Design Studio.
• The Start Designing option only appears on products that support online customization (blank items where you can create a design rather than fixed stock items)
  
  2. Launch the Online Designer
• After clicking Start Designing, the Design Studio interface loads in your browser.
  (If prompted, allow pop-ups or new tabs — this is where the canvas appears.)

⚠️ If you don’t see the Start Designing button, make sure the product you selected supports custom design rather than only uploading finished artwork.

3. Add Text and Graphics

Once inside the Design Studio, you’ll see a workspace canvas and tools to add text, graphics, colors, and images

• Add Text: Use built-in text tools to type names, numbers, slogans, or team information.
• Add Clipart/Designs: Select from any stock graphics provided, or browse categories if available (e.g., stripes, mascots, icons).
• Upload Artwork: You can upload your own images (like logos, mascots or photos) — look for an Upload button option
  Note: Uploaded images may need to meet size or resolution rules.

4. Position & Resize Elements

• Drag elements (text, images, shapes) around your design area to position them where you want them.
• Use resize controls to scale items up or down.

5. Adjust Colors and Layers

• Use color pickers to change decal colors.
• For layers — move items forward/backward to overlap elements correctly.

6. Preview & Finalize

• When you’re happy with the design, look for buttons like Accept Design or Save to confirm it.
• The system may show a preview or proof of your decal.

7. Add to Cart & Checkout

• Once accepted, you’ll be taken back to the product page or cart.
• Choose quantities and finish options before checking out.

Tips for Success

• Use Vector Files When Possible: If uploading your own artwork, vector formats (like,PDF, JPEG, SVG or EPS) usually yield sharper results.
• Check Image Size Warnings: The designer may alert you if an image is too large or outside the design area — move or resize to fit

Design Studio Tools & How to Use Them

Once you click Start Designing Now, the Pro-Tuff Design Studio will open in your browser. Below is a quick guide to the tools you’ll see and how to use them to create your custom design.

Design Canvas

The design canvas is the main work area in the center of the screen.
This shows the printable area of your decal. Everything placed inside this area will be printed.

 Add Text

Use the Add Text tool to enter names, numbers, slogans, or team information.

• Click on the text to edit it directly
• Change font style, size, and color
• Resize, rotate, or move text anywhere on the canvas

 Upload Image / Artwork

Upload your own logos or artwork using the Upload Image tool.

• Supported file types typically include JPG, PNG, and PDF
• High-resolution or vector artwork provides the best print quality
• Uploaded images can be resized and repositioned on the canvas

Clipart & Graphics

Choose from available clipart and graphic elements (when offered for the product).

• Click a graphic to add it to your design
• Use these for accents, shapes, or decorative elements

Move, Resize & Rotate

Click any element on your design to:

• Drag it to a new location
• Resize it using the corner handles
• Rotate it using the rotation control

Color Selector

Change colors for text, shapes, and certain graphics.

• Choose from preset colors or custom options
• Helps match team colors or branding

Arrange / Layers

Control how items stack on your design.

• Bring elements forward or send them backward
• Useful when overlapping text and images

Delete

Remove unwanted elements by selecting them and clicking Delete (or using the trash icon).

 Zoom

Zoom in to work on fine details or zoom out to see the full design.

Preview

Use the preview option to see how your design will look when printed.

• Double-check spacing, alignment, and readability

Accept Design

When you’re finished, click Accept Design to save your artwork.

• This attaches your design to the product
• You’ll then be able to add the item to your cart and complete checkout

Design Tips

• Keep important text and logos away from the edges
• Use bold fonts for better visibility
• If you receive an image quality warning, upload a higher-resolution file
